When Early Access started

The game went on sale in Early Access on September 10, 2026. Steam records it as the release date and the Early Access release date on the same store page, and the publisher's own game page is dated the same day.

Nothing else shipped that day. The store's platform list covers Windows and macOS only, and no console, mobile or subscription version carries a September 10 date.

What actually shipped on launch day

The launch build added content the free demo never had, and the two most-cited additions are an autosave and a second route through the caves.

Autosave triggers after you win a fight or successfully escape a dungeon, which matters more than it sounds in a game where a run can end suddenly. The second launch pathway was announced as The Facility, a route with different healing rules and its own card pool.

Four characters were playable on launch day: Paperboy, Concerned Parent, Lunchlady and Janitor. Reports that name five or more characters are counting ones added during Early Access, so read the number with its date attached.

The store page, the publisher page and the developers' announcements all agree on the Early Access date. Only the surrounding expectations changed.

Why there is no 1.0 date yet

Early Access was announced without a duration, and the developers have described the period in years rather than months, with the launch build framed as the starting point for more content rather than a near-final version.

That makes a full release date unanswerable today in a way that is not just missing information. The date itself has not been decided publicly, so any site quoting one is either repeating a pre-launch expectation or inferring from the genre.

Claim you may seeWhat is actually true
"Coming in 2025"A stale expectation from the May 2025 publishing announcement. The launch happened in September 2026.
"Releasing later this year"Written before the Early Access build shipped. The build is already out.
"Full release announced for..."No 1.0 date has been published by the developers or the publisher.

To follow the real schedule, read the Steam news hub on the store page, where patch notes and content updates are posted as they ship. The most recent update on the page at the end of September 2026 was dated September 22.

How to confirm the status yourself

The store page settles the question in one look. A released Early Access game shows the box above the trailer, an Early Access release date in the details panel, and a price instead of a wishlist button.

Dates older than a patch cycle are worth re-checking rather than trusting. The build released in September 2026 has already been patched, so a page written in the first week can describe a state that no longer exists.

Ongoing announcements are posted to the official Steam news hub.
